Khao Sok National Park
For nature lovers, ecotourists, wildlife photographers and anyone with an urge to experience the unspoilt wilds of Thailand, we offer a series of trips to the enchanting Khao Sok National Park in the nearby mainland province of Surat Thani, north of Phuket.
An internationally protected nature reserve covering more than 700 square kilometers, the rainforests of Khao Sok hold a vast array of flora and fauna, and present a rare opportunity not just to collect memories and photographs, but to enjoy a truly awesome setting and gain privileged insight into Thailand’s indigenous species and biological diversity.
beautiful and iconic
A beautiful and iconic attribute of the south-western region of Thailand are karsts - geological formations created over many years by the breakdown of limestone by rain. These stunning topological features can be seen in Phang Nga Bay and at Phi Phi Island, however in Khao Sok, the limestone mountains reach heights of over 960 metres and as such, have created magical scenery displaying karsts on a dramatic scale.
The park’s artificial lake, Cheow Lan Reservoir, created to in 1982 when the Pasaeng River was dammed, is the biggest lake in the south of Thailand, and is now integral in supporting Khao Sok’s ecosystem - members of which range from macaques, langurs and gibbons to pythons, porcupines, tapirs, wild boar, barking deer, elephants, tiger leopards, and an abundance of birdlife.
Our trips to Khao Sok National Park are operated by an environmentally responsible company, and are led by friendly, knowledgeable and multilingual guides.
Choose a single day adventure, incl. elephant trekking, canoeing or bamboo rafting, and breathtaking scenery, or select a two- or three-day safari where you’ll stay in a charming boutique camp or bungalow within the park itself, and will have the chance to fully experience all of Khao Sok’s secrets and beauty.
